竹北遠東百貨的建築外觀以新竹客家文化為發想，呈現客家山城土樓意象，成為大新竹最新特色地標。矗立之三座土樓呈現業主/事務所要表達的設計概念-在地特色及客家樸實之美。

竹北遠東百貨的建築外觀以新材料呈現舊元素。例如建築舊元素的迴廊，使用的建材為木紋烤漆之鋁合金。另一主要建築舊元素-客家土樓外牆，使用新建築材料，仿石塗料。而客家土樓屋頂則使用新建築材料水泥纖維瓦，搭配單元式屋頂系統施作，亦是業界首創。舊元素持續地在室內空間呈現湖口客家老街及客家三合院為設計元素，使用紅磚牆為建材。屋頂空中花園使用PVDF烤漆鋁擠花架，此開放性空間可近距離接觸本案指標性之土樓，並提供放鬆戶外空間。

The exterior architectural design concept of Far Eastern Sky City Shopping Mall in Zhubei is derived from Hsinchu Hakka culture, presenting a Hakka tulou (round earth dwelling). It has become the newest distinguishing landmark in Greater Hsinchu. The three tall-standing tulous express the design concept of the client/architect: Hakka's native features and simple beauty.

Far Eastern Sky City Shopping Mall in Zhubei has a new facade that incorporates historical aspects. The cloisters, for example, are made of wood texture coating alloy aluminum, which is a unique element of the architecture. The outer wall of the Hakka tulou, another architecturally noteworthy historical element, is composed of modern materials and coated with stone paint. The Hakka tulou roofs are constructed out of unitized roofing modules consisting of cementitious fiber tiles, a revolutionary building material. This is also the industry's first in Taiwan. In the interior area, Hukou Hakka Old Street and Hakka Sanheyuan are employed as design features, while red brick walls are used as building materials. Aluminum extrusion pergola with PVDF coating (Fluorocarbon paint) located in rooftop sky garden. In this case, the open space allows for intimate proximity to the iconic tulou as well as a relaxing outdoor environment.
